Career Start and Career Boost Programs
The Career Start and Career Boost programs give eligible Queenslanders access to government subsidised qualifications
Career Start Eligibility
You may be eligible for the Career Start Program if you are:
- Aged 15 years or older
- A Queensland resident and an Australian citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder, or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and on the pathway to permanent residency
- No longer at school
- Have not completed, and are not currently enrolled in, a Certificate III or higher qualification within the past 10 years (excluding school-based qualifications and foundation skills training).
- Are unemployed and seeking work or working on a full-time, part-time or casual basis.
Career Boost Eligibility
You may be eligible for the Career Boost Program if you are:
- Aged 15 years or older
- A Queensland resident and an Australian citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder, or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and on the pathway to permanent residency
- No longer at school
- Have not completed, and are not currently enrolled in, a Certificate IV or higher qualification within the past 10 years (excluding school-based qualifications and foundation skills training).
- Are unemployed and seeking work or working on a full-time, part-time or casual basis.

Funded by the Queensland Government
For eligible students only. Concession is for eligible card holders and other disadvantaged learners.
